Free mulch at Will Rogers Park in Oklahoma City through Nov. 3

Post Date:09/23/2019 9:10 AM

OKC Parks is offering free mulch through Nov. 3 at Will Rogers Park.

The mulch is available for pickup from dawn to dusk while supplies last at the park, 3600 Pat Murphy Drive. The pickup site is across from the Oklahoma City Tennis Center.

Bring your own equipment and bags for taking the mulch.

The mulch is from recycled trees debris from recent storms cleaned up from Oklahoma City parks and streets.

Recycling trees keeps them out of landfills and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. It will help the City reach its goals of increasing our recycling rate, and benefit our ecosystem by improving our air, water quality and soil.

Using mulch in urban environments like gardens promotes plant growth and water conservation by adding nutrients to the soil and helping to retain moisture.

Visit okc.gov/parks or call (405) 239-7660 for details on the free mulch.
