West River Trail re-opened in Oklahoma City after flood and erosion issues addressed

Post Date:05/31/2019 9:46 AM

The West River Trail is open again in west Oklahoma City after crews addressed erosion and flood issues along the North Canadian River’s banks.

Two small areas of concern are blocked by orange cones, and trail users can safely go around the cones.

The river has been at a high water level during this spring’s heavy rain, and erosion along the banks has damaged or threatened to damage parts of the trail.

Crews had blocked some sections of the trail with cones, but repairs and cleanup have allowed OKC Parks to re-open the trail.

OKC Parks manages the City’s trail system. Visit okc.gov/parks for more about our parks and recreation amenities.
