Post Date:03/06/2017 12:49 PM

High school students interested in hands-on learning about public service may apply for the Oklahoma City Youth Council by March 29.

The Oklahoma City Youth Council has 18 members each year, with two members from each of Oklahoma City’s eight Wards and two at-large members.

Youth Council members will spend the 2017-18 school year learning about the challenges of municipal government, addressing issues affecting OKC’s youth and more.

Applicants for the Youth Council should have a GPA of at least 3.0, a letter of recommendation and a demonstrated interest in government and community service.

Visit lokc.org to apply before the March 29 deadline.

The Youth Council is sponsored by the City of Oklahoma City and is jointly administered with the Youth Leadership Exchange of Leadership Oklahoma City.
