Oklahoma River's Eastern basin to be drained for MAPS 3 improvements

Post Date:12/29/2013

(December 19, 2013) - The Eastern basin of the Oklahoma River between Eastern Avenue and the Paul Brum, Jr. Dam will be drained starting today through March 2014 so crews can construct the second phase of  MAPS 3 improvements to the river and south bank.

The south bank of the Oklahoma River, which includes the trails, will be closed from the Byers bridge to Interstate 35.

The $4.4 million construction project includes starting docks, judging platforms, LED accent lighting, cable crossover lane markers, utility and sound infrastructure, timing displays, video camera system, access ramps and a storage building.
