Hefner-Overholser Trail
City of Oklahoma City

The Hefner-Overholser Trail will connect Lake Hefner and Lake Overholser. The north trailhead at Lake Hefner will be located on the west side of Lake Hefner Road near Britton Road. The south trailhead at Lake Overholser will be on the northeast side of the lake between County Line and Council.

It will roughly follow the water diversion canal between the two recreation areas.

Length: 5.3 miles

Parking Areas: Parking areas will be located on the east side of Lake Hefner near Britton and on the northeast side of Lake Overholser.

Surface Type: Asphalt

Time Line: Construction should begin in summer 2006.

Other Attractions: Many recreational facilities exist at both Lake Hefner and Lake Overholser. They include fishing piers, playgrounds, soccer fields, open space, Stinchcomb Wildlife Refuge, picnic areas, Wiley Post Airport, mountain bike trails, golfing and pedestrian and bicycling trails.
