The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant program, funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act provides funds to units of local and state government, Indian tribes, and territories to develop and implement projects to improve energy efficiency and reduce energy use and fossil fuel emissions in their communities.
The City of Oklahoma City received a $5,482,300 formula grant from the DOE’s EECBG Program. All entities receiving direct formula grants from the DOE are required to develop an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy (EECS) to guide implementation of activities that achieve the purposes of the EECBG Program.
