Utilities

Utilities projects are designed to meet Federal goals by investing in infrastructure that will provide long-term economic benefits by improving needed City water and sewer facilities.  A maximum amount of $4,000,000 was channeled to the State of Oklahoma and made available to the Oklahoma City Water Utilities Trust (OCWUT) through participation in the State Revolving fund loan programs (SRF) administered by the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and the Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB). The Recovery portion of the loan will be forgiven and will not have to be reimbursed from OCWUT resources. 

OCWUT identified those projects that were eligible to be funded by the loan funds and has received bids for those projects.  The total project award for water SRF projects is $7,336,479.57 with an anticipated net loan of $5,336,479.57 after the $2,000,000 ARRA principal forgiveness. The total project award for sewer SRF projects is $8,577,220.85 with an anticipated net loan of $6,577,220.85 after the $2,000,000 ARRA principal forgiveness. Based on those figures, $27.3% or $2,000,000 is covered by Recovery funds for water projects and $23.3% or $2,000,000 is covered by Recovery funds for sewer projects.  The City's total in Recovery funds to be applied to these projects is the maximum available of $4,000,000.
