

Utilities projects are designed to meet Federal goals by investing in infrastructure that will provide long-term economic benefits by improving needed City water and sewer facilities. A maximum amount of $4,000,000 was channeled to the State of Oklahoma and made available to the Oklahoma City Water Utilities Trust (OCWUT) through participation in the State Revolving fund loan programs (SRF) administered by the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and the Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB). The Recovery portion of the loan (up to $4,000,000) will be forgiven and will not have to be reimbursed from OCWUT resources, leaving no more than $16,000,000 to be repaid by OCWUT.
The $4,000,000 maximum of Recovery funds were made available up to $2,000,000 for water projects and up to $2,000,000 for sewer projects. Water projects are funded by Recovery funds at a rate of 27.5% of the total project cost; sewer projects are funded by Recovery funds at a rate of 20% of the total project cost.
OCWUT identified those projects that were eligible to be funded by the loan funds and has received bids for those projects. Listed below are the actual bids for the projects. Based on those figures, $1,999,427.38 is covered by Recovery funds for water projects and $1,721,718.30 is covered by Recovery funds for sewer projects. The City's total in Recovery funds to be applied to these projects is $3,721,145.68.
