Community improvement projects are designed to meet Federal goals by assisting those citizens most impacted by the recession, investing in environmental protections that will reduce identified risks and investing in infrastructure that will provide long-term economic benefits by making the community a more accessible place for the disabled members of the community, preventing homelessness and cleaning up polluted properties.
The City has been awarded $4,874,789 for these projects.
Energy projects are designed to meet Federal goals by investing in environmental protection through fuel technologies that can reduce carbon emissions and by investing in infrastructure that will enhance the energy efficiency of buildings and other facilities throughout the City, thereby providing long-term economic benefits.
The City has been awarded $5,482,300 for these projects.
Public safety projects are designed to meet Federal goals by minimizing and avoiding reductions in essential services provided by Police Officers in sex-offender monitoring and combating gang-related violence, as well as investing in infrastructure through purchasing new law-enforcement equipment.
The City has been awarded $4,371,202 for these projects.
Transportation projects are designed to meet Federal goals by investing in transportation and other infrastructure that will provide long-term economic benefits by resurfacing City streets, purchasing buses for mass transit and replacing lighting controls at City airports.
The City has been awarded or will benefit $30,226,844 for these projects.
Utilities projects are designed to meet Federal goals by investing in infrastructure that will provide long-term economic benefits by improving needed City water and sewer facilities.
The City has been awarded $4,000,000 for these projects.
