Inspection During Construction

 City of Oklahoma City

Any project which requires a permit also requires inspections during and after construction. Inspections are required to make sure projects comply with the approved plans and electrical, mechanical and plumbing codes.

We provide a list of all inspections required for your project along with your permit, but you or your representative are responsible for arranging for all the building-related inspections.

Plumbing, electrical, mechanical or driveway work require separate inspections for each area. Licensed trade inspection requests are accepted only from the licensed contractor who holds the permits. The owner or general contractor can’t call for these inspections.

• TIP - Calling for inspections at the last minute delays projects. Be sure your subcontractors schedule inspections at least 24 hours ahead. They can use the 24 hour telephone "Inspection Hotline" or 24-hour FAX "Hotline" to schedule inspections. Requests made to these hotlines before 7 a.m. go to the field for inspection the same day.
