This is Sherry Robinson EHS Manager for Metal Container Corporation at S.W. 36 & Meridian.  She traveled throughout the plant and covered all four shifts to let everyone know about the company's plans to adopt a street!  She showed her fellow employees the lovely orange vest that everyone will get to wear, plus demonstrated how to grab trash with the Orang-U-Tongs!

Hefner Lake Sweep April 24, 2004

Dad and daughters found lots of trash around lake shore as well as rescuing an injured sea gull.

Many of the volunteers at the Hefner Lake Sweep were Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts and Camp Fire girls.

OKC Fire Station #30 are the Heroes for the Day!  They brought their big rigs and made a flashy showing in the parking lot; they brought over their smaller truck and moved the grill into place; they picked up trash all around the playground point; then they cooked 200 hot dogs for the volunteers.  Thanks Station #30 !

Thanks to Karla Beaty with the Oklahoma Conservation Commission for educating the citizens who were present with her Willy Water Drop Obstacle Course.  It is a great tool to demonstrate the cycle of our water.

Bob Martin, Parks Department's fishing expert, held a casting clinic with volunteers and hula hoops.  The kids loved it.

Waste Management brought recycle boxes to sort the 200 bags of trash that we picked up.  Plastics and aluminum were separated and recycled....a bonus to our litter removal efforts!

Thanks to BassPro Shop for donating some wonderful prizes and goody bags for the volunteers.

U.S. Navy  VQ-7 FCA

Not everyone in Oklahoma City realizes that the U.S.NAVY is stationed here. Giving back to the community is a large part of what we do as the VQ-7 First Class Association. Our street is right by the back entrance to Tinker AFB so everyone who drives in knows the Navy is keeping it clean.
