On December 12, Oklahoma City voters approved the $340 million City 
General Obligation Bond proposal by a margin of almost 4-1. Unofficial vote

The Year 2000 bond program focuses on basic infrastructure improvements, including more than 400 street resurfacing projects; expanding or building five branch libraries; replacing one police and two fire stations; improving parks, community centers, athletic facilities and trails; and expanding the animal shelter. The property tax rate will not be raised to repay the bonds. The City will maintain the current 16-mill levy. Exact locations and spending detail for all the projects are listed below.

M. Construct trails and related design, parking, restroom facilities,
furniture, equipment, landscaping, lighting, property acquisition
and/or signage at the following general locations:

1. Extending from Lake Hefner to a point north of
Lake Overholser generally along or above the
canal which connects Lake Hefner and the North
Canadian River north of Lake Overholser. $440,000

2. Extending east from Lake Hefner to Grand Blvd.,
then easterly along Grand Blvd. to the city limits;
and, with an additional portion of the trail extending
from N.W. 63rd St. and Grand Blvd. southeasterly
along Grand Blvd. to the vicinity of Grand Blvd.

3. Extending from and through Lincoln Park north to
Deep Fork Creek; and, extending south and south-
westerly from Lincoln Park generally along the former
Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railroad (the "Katy")
right-of-way, through Washington Park, to a point
in the vicinity of Lincoln Blvd. and Reno; and,
with an additional portion of the trail extending south
from a point south of Creston Hills Park generally along
the former Katy right-of-way to a point in the vicinity of
the North Canadian River and the Interstate 35/40
junction; and, with an additional portion of the trail
extending along N.E. 10th St. from Martin Luther
King Ave. easterly to the former Katy right-of-way. $770,000

4. Extending from Lake Stanley Draper north generally
along Midwest Blvd. to Interstate 240, then extending
generally west along Interstate 240 to Air Depot Blvd.,
then extending generally north and northwesterly
to the vicinity of Sooner Rd. and S.E. 59th St., then

Oklahoma City limits; and, with an additional portion
of the trail beginning at the city limits in the vicinity

Park and recreational facility improvements; park maintenance

advanced design and engineering services; and/or,
acquisition of right-of-way and/or land for

fire station in Northeast Oklahoma City, which
may include related site acquisition and preparation,

3. Design, construct and/or acquire and renovate a Fire
Department vehicle storage building in Oklahoma City,
which may include related offices, equipment, furnishings,
site acquisition and preparation, infrastructure, drainage,
utilities, roadways, parking, landscaping and/or fencing. $1,000,000

4. Design, remodel, improve and/or expand the existing
building at 1939 Exchange Ave. to provide a
Fire Department storage and supply facility with
related offices, which may include related acquisition
of additional real property, site preparation, infrastructure,
drainage, utilities, roadways, parking, landscaping
and/or fencing. $ 500,000

5. Design, construct, equip, furnish and/or acquire a new
Fire Department training facility (live fire training
facility), to be located in Oklahoma City, which may include
related site acquisition and preparation, infrastructure,
drainage, utilities, roadways, parking, landscaping
and/or fencing. $ 300,000

The balance of said bond funds shall be used as follows:

Repair, renovation, furnishing and equipping of Fire Department

library to be located south of S.W. 89th St.
between Interstate 44 and Santa Fe Ave.,
which may include related site acquisition

3. Expansion, renovation and remodeling of Ralph
Ellison Library in the vicinity of N.E. 23rd St.
and Martin Luther King Ave., which may include

4. Expansion, renovation and remodeling of Southern
Oaks Library in the vicinity of 6900 S. Walker Ave.,
