BRICKTOWN URBAN DESIGN COMMITTEE

The meeting of the Oklahoma City Bricktown Urban Design Committee was called to order in the 2nd Floor Conference Room, 116 E Sheridan Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The meeting convened at 9:02 a.m. Notice of the meeting and agenda were filed with the City Clerk’s office and posted on the Council bulletin board 24 hours prior to the meeting.

II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
APPROVED. Motion: Yoeckel/Ainsworth to approve the minutes of the March 10, 2004, Bricktown Urban Design Committee meeting. Ayes: Wilson, Ainsworth, Yoeckel. Nays: None.
III. CASES FOR INDIVIDUAL CONSIDERATION
III-A. Consider issuing a Bricktown Certificate of Approval for BCA-04-004, at 222 E Sheridan Ave. Application: Ben L. Randolph, Wave Omnimedia LLC, for Power Alley Parking, is applying for approval to (1) install a mural on billboard on the south side; and (2) project images on the west side of the parking garage.
No one appeared. Committee members expressed concerns (1) about lighting and material, and (2) on screen material and where the images would be projected from, and the effect of this and other images on the nighttime ambience of Bricktown.
REFERRED and CONTINUED. Motion: Yoeckel/Ainsworth to refer BCA-04-004 to the Oklahoma City Arts Commission under Code provisions for artistic graphics, and continue the case for two months. Ayes: Wilson, Ainsworth, Yoeckel. Nays: None.
IV. OTHER BUSINESS (no items)
V. COMMUNICATIONS
V-A. Boundary expansion. The Planning Commission recommended two provisions: (1) amending the Zoning Code to add design review criteria for the area east of Joe Carter/Stiles Avenue; and (2) rezoning the east area to BC Bricktown Core. The City Council hearing for both is now expected to be on June 2.
V-B. Code violation, 100 E Main St: Completed construction appears to be according to the Certificate of Approval.
V-C. The next regularly scheduled meeting for the Bricktown Urban Design Committee is Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at 9:00 a.m. New applications and information on continued projects are to be submitted to staff by 5:00 p.m., Friday, May 28 (early because of holiday).
VI. ADJOURNMENT (9:35 a.m.)
Motion: Yoeckel/Ainsworth to adjourn the May 12, 2004, meeting of the Bricktown Urban Design Committee. Ayes: Wilson, Ainsworth, Yoeckel. Nays: None.
