Business Improvement Districts
The Northeast Sector Planning area includes 101.6 square miles located in the far northeastern portion of Oklahoma City. Distinguishing features within the sector include Arcadia Lake, the North Canadian River, the I-35 and I-44 interchange, and a predominant land use of rural acreage and agricultural development.
The sector plan process is a collaborative effort led by Planning Staff and involving City Council and Planning Commission members, neighborhood leaders, area developers, school representatives, leaders from adjacent cities, and other interested persons. An initial community meeting is held, at which participants can express their ideas about their area’s growth and development. Participants also have an opportunity to volunteer for a Plan Team that develops the policies to be included in the area’s long range plan in a series of small group meetings. When completed the Northeast Sector Plan will be used by City officials, citizens, and private businesses to guide long-term decisions about future growth and developments.
A Community Meeting was held on Thursday May 29 at the Minnis Lakeview Community Center.
So that we may reach more members of the community a repeat of this meeting will be held on Thursday, June 19 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Metro Tech Business Conference Center Auditorium, 1900 Springlake Drive.
Plan Team meetings will begin on June 26 at the Metro Tech Business Conference Center Carousel room, 1900 Springlake Drive, from 6 to 7 p.m.
