The Capitol Hill District looks to the past while showcasing local Hispanic culture. Originally, Capitol Hill was established as a separate community that contained a prosperous shopping district and several neighborhoods. The area was later incorporated into Oklahoma City but fell into decline as businesses left the area. In 1997, the area was designated as a Main Street Project. Today, the district boasts several local businesses and restaurants with a distinctive Hispanic flair. The annual Fiestas de las Americas is an exciting annual event that includes a parade, food vendors, various booths, live music and children’s entertainment.
