BRICKTOWN CANAL VENDING PERMITS
NOTICE OF APPLICATION PROCEDURES

January 5, 2009 is the deadline for applications to be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office. Street entertainers and vendors interested in operating an outdoor cart vending business or performing on public property along the west end of the Bricktown Canal must possess all the applicable Federal, State and City licenses and permits in order to apply for a Bricktown Canal vending permit. The information packet includes the application, designated site map, and the Rules and Regulations for Bricktown Canal Vending Permits. There are 12 designated sites for which permits will be issued: 8 sites for food and/or beverage vending (sites #2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11), 2 sites for merchandise vending (sites #6, 7) and 2 sites for public entertainment (sites #1, 12). The cost of the permit for a merchandise site, or a food and/or beverage site, is $600 and is valid from February 1, 2009 through July 31, 2009. The cost of the permit for an entertainer site is $100 per month and is valid for one month. Entertainers can apply for more than one month in the permit period of February 2009 through July 2009. Vendors can apply for more than one site, but a separate application must be submitted for each site. In addition, the site number must be specified on the application. The Bricktown Canal Vending Permit does not apply to, or include, private property adjacent to the Bricktown Canal.

January 5, 2009: Completed application packets received in the City Clerk’s Office by 5 p.m.

January 6, 2009: City’s bid committee opens applications in City Clerk’s Office. Refer applications to Parks & Recreation Department staff.

January 13, 2009: Tiebreaker drawing held in City Clerk’s Office to determine designated site selection.

January 14-31, 2009: Successful food and/or beverage vendors, merchandise vendors, and entertainers purchase Bricktown Canal Vending Permit.

February 1, 2009: Permittee occupies site(s) with permit valid February 1, 2009 through July 31, 2009, for merchandise and food/beverage vendors, and permits valid monthly for entertainers.
