MEETING MINUTES

March 2, 2004

        I.     Call to Order.   3:02 p.m.

Chairman Carl Edwards, Jr. presiding.

Stan Hupfeld, Linda Lambert and Patrick Rooney absent.

      II.   Approve Minutes of the February 17, 2004 Oklahoma City Metropolitan Area Public Schools Trust Meeting

APPROVED. Moved by Mashburn, seconded by Thompson. Ayes: Chairman Edwards, Lopez, Mashburn and Thompson.

III. Approve OCMAPS Trust Semi-Annual Status Report

APPROVED. Moved by Lopez, seconded by Thompson. Ayes: Chairman Edwards, Lopez, Mashburn and Thompson.

IV. Approve Suburban School District Applications for Funding

a. Crooked Oak Public School District – Intercom System – $31,483

b. Piedmont Public School District – Architectural Design Fees – $147,600

APPROVED. Moved by Lopez, seconded by Thompson. Ayes: Chairman Edwards, Lopez, Mashburn and Thompson.

V. Adopt Resolution Authorizing the General Manager to Submit Applications, Enter into Certain Form Agreements, Submit Reports and Provide Other Informational Documents on Behalf of the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Area Public Schools Trust for the FEMA Safe Room Program

ADOPTED. Moved by Thompson, seconded by Mashburn. Ayes: Chairman Edwards, Lopez, Mashburn and Thompson.

VI. Approve Revised 2004 Oklahoma City Metropolitan Area Public Schools Trust Meeting Schedule

APPROVED. Moved by Lopez, seconded by Thompson. Ayes: Chairman Edwards, Lopez, Mashburn and Thompson.

VII. Update/Status of OCMAPS Program – James Couch, General Manager

Mr. Couch said the Wheeler Elementary groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for March 10th at 10:00 a.m. The Trustees would be receiving invitations for the event soon. He said the Douglass High School plans would be advertised this week, and bids are due on March 30th. In April, the construction contract should be awarded and construction should begin. The Preliminary Reports for Telstar and Ridgeview Elementary Schools were approved by the School Board last night. Notices to proceed will be issued to the architects to prepare final plans and specifications.

He said Joe Clytus was sworn in for another term on the School Board. He said he is looking forward to working with him for several more years. Chairman Edwards offered his congratulations.
