I. Call to Order. 3:04 p.m.
Chairman Carl Edwards, Jr. presiding.
Stanley Hupfeld absent.
II. Approve Minutes of the January 21, 2004 Oklahoma City Metropolitan Area Public Schools Trust Meeting
APPROVED. Moved by Lambert, seconded by Mashburn. Ayes: Chairman Edwards, Lambert, Lopez, Mashburn, Rooney and Thompson.
III. Adopt Resolution Ratifying Issuance of and Approving Addenda Nos. 1 and 2 for OCMAPS Project ES-0002, Renovation and Additions to Wheeler Elementary School, Phase I; Awarding Contract to J. L. Walker Construction, Inc.; and Approving Contract and Bonds
WAIVED and ADOPTED. Moved by Rooney to waive the Engineer’s Estimate requirement of the “Standard Specifications for the Construction of Public Improvements” and adopt the resolution, seconded by Thompson. Ayes: Chairman Edwards, Lambert, Lopez, Mashburn, Rooney and Thompson.
IV. Adopt Resolution Ratifying Issuance of and Approving Addenda Nos. 1 and 2 for OCMAPS Projects ES-0006 and ES-0007, Fire Alarm Systems; Awarding Contract to Network Alarm Services, Inc.; and Approving Contract and Bonds
STRICKEN.
V. Final Acceptance of OCMAPS Project ES-0009, CNG School Buses
ACCEPTED. Moved by Lopez, seconded by Rooney. Ayes: Chairman Edwards, Lambert, Lopez, Mashburn, Rooney and Thompson.
VI. Update/Status of OCMAPS Program – James Couch, General Manager
Mr. Couch said the contractor has begun work on Star Spencer High School. Groundbreaking ceremonies are scheduled for February 17th. He said now that the Trust has approved the Wheeler Elementary construction contract, renovations will begin immediately in order for the Phase I work to be completed by this fall. Phase II plans will be received in April with work to begin this summer. All 15 roof and 24 fire alarm projects are underway with completion expected later this year. Architectural contracts are being negotiated for Heronville, Edgemere and Bodine Elementary Schools. Proposals for Gatewood, Horace Mann and Wilson Elementary Schools are being reviewed. Three additional projects will be bid this summer.
