Workshop to help OKC residents maintain landscape while conserving water

(July 11, 2013) - Dr. Justin Moss and staff from the OSU Extension Service, Horticulture and Landscape Architecture Department will hold a workshop that will prepare residents to maintain yards and gardens while conserving water.

9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, July 20
OSU-OKC Campus
Agriculture Resource Center, Room 196
400 N. Portland Ave.

Workshop topics include:

·       Appropriate plant selection for Oklahoma landscapes
·      
Proper irrigation methods for maintaining a healthy landscape
·      
Simple irrigation plan and resources
·      
Demonstration on how to do a simple irrigation audit

The City’s Utilities Department has partnered with the OSU Extension Service to help promote water conservation and educate citizens on using water wisely outdoors, especially during times of drought.
