(December 7, 2011) - The
City’s nine recreation centers will change their hours of operation to
accommodate students during the upcoming winter break.
From December 12-22, and
on January 3, the centers will switch to from evening to daytime hours so
participants can take advantage of programs. The centers will revert to
regular hours beginning Wednesday, January 4. They will be closed December
26-30.
Winter break hours for
the individual centers are:
Douglass Recreation Center, 900 N. Frederick Douglass Ave.
10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Macklanburg Recreation Center, 2234 NW 117th, 1 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Melrose Recreation Center, 7800 W. Melrose Lane, 1 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Minnis Lakeview, 12520 NE 36th, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Pilot Recreation Center, 1435 NW 2nd Street, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Pitts Recreation Center, 1920 N. Kate Ave., 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Schilling Recreation Center, 539 SW 25 Street, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Sellers Recreation Center, 8301 S. Villa Ave., 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Southern Oaks Recreation Center, 400 SW 6th Street, 9 a.m. – 6
p.m.
During the winter break,
the Regional Food Bank of Central Oklahoma will provide lunches and a
daytime snack during operating hours.
The City’s recreation
centers provide a variety of youth-oriented programs, including individual
and team sports, dance, performing arts, games, arts & craft activities and
