Ribbon cutting ceremony this Friday at Southwest Oklahoma City Library - Opening delayed for several weeks

WHO:
The City of Oklahoma City and the Pioneer Library System

WHAT:
Officials will cut the ribbon for the new Southwest Oklahoma City Library.  Due to construction delays, the library will open to the public a few weeks later.

Once the library opens, visitors can check out books from the 47,000-item print collection and another 6000 items in non-print collections including DVD’s and books on CD.  Additionally, customers will have access to 28 computers in the Southwest Oklahoma City Library and over 700,000 books and other items collectively owned by Pioneer Library System.

The $3.7 million facility was paid for from the 2000 and 2007 GO bonds. The Pioneer library System will operate the library with an annual investment of $825,760 in Personnel, $319,000 in technology and just over $1 million in materials.
