Walker Ave to close Monday as work on Crosstown continues

(February 26, 2010) - ODOT contractors plan to close Walker Ave. from SW 7th to SW 10th St. near downtown Oklahoma City at 9 a.m. Monday for bridge work required for the new I-40 Crosstown.  

Walker Ave. will remain closed until early 2011. Nearby Western Ave. recently reopened following similar bridge work and will be used for the detour route.   The close is dependent on the weather.  

Other closures in the area include:
-Pennsylvania Ave. is closed between Reno Ave. and Exchange Ave. until late 2010. Detour is Agnew Ave.    
-Robinson Ave. is closed between S.W. 10th St. and S.W. 4th St. until early 2011. Detour is Shields Blvd.
-S.W. 7th St. is closed between S. Broadway Ave. and Santa Fe Ave. until further notice.
-Eastbound I-40 is narrowed slightly but remains open between Portland and I-44 through summer 2010.
