(January 27, 2010) - Salt crews will report to work at 2 a.m. Thursday in preparation for sleet and snow predicted to occur in the morning hours.
Twenty four salt trucks will
hit the street as soon as weather conditions begin to deteriorate.
Crews will focus their de-icing
efforts along the City’s emergency snow routes, which can be viewed at
www.okc.gov. Residents without
access to the Internet can call Oklahoma City’s Action Center at 297-2535
and request a map.
Bridges and overpasses along the
snow route will be the first to be treated.
Crews are prepared to work
12-hour shifts, 24 hours per day if needed.
Drivers can help crews by
keeping a safe distance – about 200 feet – away from salt trucks.
Note:
A news briefing regarding the winter storm will be held at 1:30 on
Jan 28 in the Central Maintenance Facility (building 3), SW 15 and Portland.
