- Autumn Radle has been named Oklahoma City’s new Sustainability Manager
by City Manager Jim Couch. The
position is new to the City.
Radle will head the new Office of Sustainability and
will be responsible for enhancing the City’s energy efficiency efforts and
promoting sustainability throughout the organization and the community.
The office will be funded through economic stimulus funds and grants.
Radle began her career with the City in 2007 as an
Urban Redevelopment Specialist for the Planning Department, where she led
the Downtown Strategic Initiative, the Bricktown Land Use Study, and the
Core to Shore Park Concept Design. She also co-managed the Energy Efficiency
and Conservation Block Grant program.
“Autumn’s background in environmental planning and
experience in the field will move Oklahoma City towards a more sustainable
future,” said City Manager Jim Couch.
“I look forward to working with her to develop and implement
sustainable strategies and best practices for Oklahoma City.”
Radle, who is a native New Yorker, has a bachelor’s
degree in environmental science from State University of New York and earned
her master’s degrees in environmental studies and community and regional
planning from the University of Oregon. She has 11 years of planning and
environmental work experience in Santa Barbara, San Diego, Flagstaff and
Eugene, Oregon.
“By creating the Office of Sustainability the City of Oklahoma City is once
again demonstrating its vision for the future and its commitment to
supporting quality of life for its citizens,” Radle said.
“One of my goals is to provide City government, businesses,
nonprofits, schools and the public with the tools, information and solutions
necessary to incorporate sustainability into the long-term health of
our economy, community, and environment.”
Radle is a member of the Urban Land Institute.
