(July 15, 2009) - Business owners, residents, stakeholders and developers along Northeast 23rd Street are invited to a public meeting to discuss proposed changes to code enforcement guidelines that could stimulate economic growth along the corridor.
Councilman Skip Kelly will host the meeting at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21 in the Carousel Room at Metro Tech’s Springlake Campus, 1900 Springlake Drive.
“As one of Oklahoma City’s busiest streets, 23rd Street – northwest and northeast – have remarkable potential for economic growth,” Councilman Kelly said. “We are seeking input from business owners and residents on how best to proceed with increased enforcement and proposed zoning restrictions.”
Issues such as zoning, property maintenance, outside storage, signage and fencing will be discussed.
It is hoped that changes in zoning and increased code enforcement will help revitalize and connect both Northwest and Northeast 23rd Streets, restore the historic vitality of the area, attract anchor businesses that will bring jobs and services and reinstate the street as the gateway to the capitol.
