General Services master mechanics win skills competition

(July 29, 2009) - Max Dennis and Jonathan Love, ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certified Master Truck Technicians in the Fleet Services Division of the City’s General Services Department, placed first and second respectively, at the State Heavy Truck Skills Competition on July 18th at Francis Tuttle Technology Center.

The contest focused on heavy truck maintenance, which included: 

• Electronics
• Brakes                    
• Clutch and driveline
• Air conditioning          
• Transmission         
• Failure analysis      
• Engine diagnosis             
• Suspension            
• Wheel ends
• Preventive maintenance inspections 

The full day of competition began with an ASE written test and continued with hands on testing in the areas listed above.

Dennis will represent the Oklahoma Trucking Association and the City of Oklahoma City at the National Skills Championship in Raleigh, North Carolina in September.
