(July 2, 2009) - Oklahoma City residents interested in learning how to improve their neighborhood’s appearance and home values can sign up to attend a free Code Enforcement 101 workshop offered through Neighborhood Alliance and the City of Oklahoma City.
The workshop will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 9 at Will Rogers Garden Exhibition Center, 3400 NW 36.
“This educational workshop will give residents the tools they need to combat blight and beautify their neighborhood,” Neighborhood Alliance Executive Director Georgie Rasco said. “The City wants to help residents make their neighborhoods clean and beautiful, it just takes a cooperative effort. This workshop is a great place to start.”
Workshop speakers include: Action Center Manager Beth Crounse, Solid Waste Management Supervisor Charles Lombardy, Storm Water Quality Supervisor Raymond Melton, Chief Zoning Inspector John Wilson, Housing Rehabilitation Coordinator Robert Dailey, Animal Welfare Supervisor Rodney Pesch and Construction Services Superintendent David Adcock.
According to Action Center Manager Beth Crounse, the
City’s Action Center receives more than 60,000 calls and emails annually
from residents wanting to rid their neighborhood of high grass and weeds,
yard parking, junk and debris, inoperable vehicles, graffiti and poor
property maintenance.
