While most departments were asked to take a 1.5 percent budget cut, the City Manager’s proposed budget does not include cuts in public safety personnel. Other departments are affected by incremental reductions in services, but no major reductions in programs are proposed.
Nine City departments will present their proposed budgets to the Council on Tuesday, May 12, May 26 and June 9. The meetings, which take place at 8:30 a.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall, are open to the public and will be televised on City Channel 20.

Council is scheduled to vote on the fiscal year 2009-10 budget at the June 16 Council meeting. The budget becomes effective July 1.
The proposed budget will be posted on the City’s Web site, www.okc.gov , on May 5. Citizens can comment on the budget from May 5 through June 16. For more information contact the Finance Department at 297-2257.
