‘Blue Bin Instant Win’ game pays off

(May 2, 2008) - All Oklahoma City households eligible for Curbside Recycling began playing Blue Bin – Instant Win on April 21.  At the end of the first week, one resident was declared the first winner and received $100 cash from Waste Management.  However, week two produced no winner.  That means the prize money for week three will be $200.  The next person whose enrollment card is drawn must properly fill and set out a Little Blue recycling bin to win it.  If not, the money will roll over to the next week.

Blue Bin – Instant Win is a game in which one resident each week for 12 weeks can win $100 from Waste Management, the city’s contracted waste and recycling collection vendor.  The game ends the week of July 7.

Brochures were mailed to all Oklahoma City residents eligible for the City’s Curbside Recycling Program.  The brochure explains the contest rules, items accepted for Curbside Recycling and an enrollment card.  It’s not too late to play Blue Bin – Instant Win, complete the enrollment card, add a stamp and drop it in the mail.  The sooner residents return enrollment cards, the more chances they will have to win.

A list of accepted recyclables is included in the Blue Bin – Instant Win brochure and available at www.okc.gov or by calling 297-2833.

Oklahoma City and Waste Management employees and their immediate family members living in the same household are not eligible to enter and win.
