Community meetings scheduled in Ward 6 for City’s 2007 Bond Election

(November 21, 2007) - Oklahoma City Ward 6 Councilwoman Ann Simank will host two community meetings next week regarding the City’s 2007 bond program.

The first meeting is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on November 27 at Northwest Baptist Church, 3030 NW 23rd.  The second meeting is 6:30 p.m. on November 29 at Asbury Methodist Church, 1320 SW 38.

City staff will explain each of the 11 propositions that will appear on the December 11 ballot and answer questions about the proposed bond program.   If passed the 2007 bond program will provide $835.5 million in long-term funding for the City’s infrastructure without raising City property taxes.

The bond propositions were set based on feedback from the 2006 citizen survey, City Council strategic priorities, city manager and department priorities and impact on the operating budget.
