Crystal Orchid Award Honoree Announced, Event Planned

(July 26, 2006) – The Myriad Gardens Foundation announced the winner of this year’s Crystal Orchid Award. Jean McLaughlin, a long time board member and past president, will receive the award at a luncheon in her honor during the annual Orchids in October Celebration at the Myriad Botanical Gardens.

The award presentation will be held October 5, at 11:30 a.m. on the Water Stage with the luncheon to follow in the Dean A McGee Education Center. Past winners of the Crystal Orchid Award include James Tolbert, Dannie Bea Hightower, Ginny Greenberg and Morton Payne.

Orchids in October is a three-day event held each fall that includes a three-day orchid sale, the award luncheon and a free admission day at the Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory. Lillian Yoeckel and Connie Bright are co-chairing the Orchids in October event.
