Council scheduled to vote on budget Tuesday

(June 9, 2006) – City Council is scheduled to vote on the City budget for FY 2006-07 Tuesday after hearing final departmental presentations and public input.

Departments making presentations at Tuesday’s meeting include Airports, Fire and Water & Wastewater Utilities. City Manager Jim Couch has presented a proposed revenue budget of $751.9 million.

The budget for the General Fund, which pays for most day-to-day City services, is proposed at $321.1 million – a 6.2 percent increase from the FY 05-06 amended budget.

Last Tuesday, Council members added their choices of priority items to the budget, which included $1.87 million in expenditures for Parks & Recreation, Public Works, Police, Neighborhood Services, Planning, General Services and Information Technology.

The fiscal year begins July 1.
