(February 1, 2006) – Residential customers of City trash serivce may dispose of brush, old appliances (except those containing refrigerant) and furniture for free during Free Landfill Disposal Day, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, February 18. Residents are limited to one visit in a car, van, SUV, pickup or single axle truck and up to a 16-foot trailer. A valid driver’s license with current address is required.

The City typically hosts free landfill days twice a year, however, this year, the City will offer an additional day to accommodate residents who cleared brush during the recent spate of wildfires across the state.
Commercial and industrial waste does not qualify for the program. In addition, household hazardous waste can’t be accepted. Residents may dispose of waste such as batteries, pesticides, chemicals, motor oil and paint, etc., at the Oklahoma City Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center, 3738 SW 15. Free Landfill Disposal Days along with monthly, bulky waste collection, are two ways the City of Oklahoma City keeps items off of city streets, decreases the number of illegal dumpsites, improves the appearance of local neighborhoods and protects public health and safety.
