(February 24, 2006) – Seventeen all- or mostly-black dogs will be up for adoption at special prices this weekend during the “Black Beauty Special” at the Oklahoma City Animal Shelter at SE 29 and Bryant.
All “Black Beauty” dogs will be available for $25 each which includes the cost of spay or neuter and all shots. This includes puppies and younger dogs whose adoption fee would normally be $65.
“Black Beauty” dogs will also be available at the pet adoption outreach Saturday at PetsMart at I-40 and MacArthur.
All of the Animal Shelter’s adoptable pets can be seen at www.okc.gov.
Pet overpopulation is a tragic problem that results in the deaths of over 15,000 healthy, adoptable pets each year.
