“Pothole Posse” tackles City streets with 6-day work weeks

(March 4, 2005) – The City’s Street Maintenance Division will field an 18-person ‘Pothole Posse’ during March and April to patch potholes left by an unusually rainy fall and winter.

Eight two-man crews, plus a supervisor and dispatcher, will work six days a week on nothing but pothole repair during March and April.

Crews can repair up to 400 potholes a day and will pour 30 to 40 tons of asphalt each day.

“Our crews will have traffic cones up where they’re working,” Street Maintenance Supervisor Mike DeGiacomo said. “We’re asking motorists to give us plenty of room as we work our way through town.”

Citizens can report potholes to the Pothole Hotline at 631-1111.
