Trout Season
Parks & Recreation

Anglers of all ages can enjoy fishing for rainbow trout during the City's Annual Trout Season. The season runs January 1 - February 28 at Dolese Youth Park Pond, 5105 NW 50th.

Trout are stocked four times, providing plenty of fishing opportunities throughout the two-month season. The trout are generally 9"-12" inches in length.

For 2013, trout will be stocked a few days prior to season opening, plus the weeks of January 7, January 24, February 4 and February 18.

On Friday, January 11, anglers can participate in a FREE TROUT FISHING CLINIC held each January. Clinic participants learn angling basics, plus specific techniques for fishing trout, as well as how to clean and prepare trout for cooking. The clinic will be held at the Putnam City High School Gymnasium, 5300 N.W. 50th Street. Register in advance by calling 755-4014.
