Children's fishing classes
Parks & Recreation

Fishing BobbersBring your little anglers for the City's free "Hooked on Fishing" classes for anglers aged 5-15 held on select Saturdays each May, June and July. Classes take place from 8 to 10 a.m. at various local fishing waters.

Volunteer and staff educators from the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation and City of Oklahoma City's fishery staff will be on hand to assist anglers to hone their fishing skills.

Young anglers learn fishing basics including knot-tying, casting, fish identification, angler ethics and fishing regulations.

Poles, tackle and bait are provided during the class.

Classes are open to boys and girls 5 to 15 years old.  All participants must be accompanied by an adult.  No State License or City Permits required during class hours. Class is catch and release.

Enrollment begins the third Monday in May, and reservations are required. Call the H.B. Parsons Fish Hatchery at 405 297-1426 for more information.
