Kids' fishing classes
Parks & Recreation

Fishing BobbersBring your little anglers for the City's free "Hooked on Fishing" kids' fishing classes held on select Saturdays each June, July and August. Classes take place from 8 to 10 a.m.

Volunteer and staff educators from the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation and City of Oklahoma City's Municipal Fishery will be on hand to assist anglers to hone their fishing skills.

Young anglers learn fishing basics including knot-tying, casting, fish identification, angler etiquette and fishing regulations.

Poles, tackle and bait are provided during the class.

Classes are open to boys and girls 5 to 15 years old.  All participants must be accompanied by an adult.  No State License or City Permits required during class hours.  Fish caught during class will be released.

Enrollment begins the third Monday in May, and reservations are required. Enroll online at www.okcpal.org, or call the OKC Police Athletic League at 405 316-FISH.
