Kids' fishing classes
Parks & Recreation

Bring your little anglers for the City's free "Hooked on Fishing" kids' fishing classes held on select Saturdays each June, July and August. Classes take place from 8 to 10 a.m.

Young boy shows off his catch during June 2007 fishing class. Kids line up along Dolese Park Pond for fishing class.

Volunteer and staff educators from the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation and City of Oklahoma City's Municipal Fishery will be on hand to assist anglers to hone their fishing skills.

Young anglers learn fishing basics including knot-tying, casting, fish identification, angler etiquette and fishing regulations.

Poles, tackle and bait are provided!

Classes are open to boys and girls 5 to 15 years old, and children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult.

Enrollment begins May 19, 2008 and reservations are required. Call the OKC Police Athletic League at 316-FISH for information and to reserve a spot.
