July 28, 2004: The Oklahoma City Hazard Mitigation Committee met today to vote, the results were as follows: (1) The Committee voted unanimously to for the approval and adoption of the Oklahoma City Hazard Mitigation Plan, and (2) The Committee voted unanimously for the recommended approval and adoption by Mayor and City Council of the Plan. The Plan will be voted on by City Council at the August 3, 2004, City Council meeting.
July 28, 2004: the Hazard Committee will be meeting to vote on the approval of the Plan as well as to recommend approval to City Council to approve the Plan.
July 14, 2004: Hazard Mitigation Measures are available for review and comment. Please submit all comments to hazmit@okc.gov. Comments will be received until July 27, 2004.
July 12, 2004: The Draft Hazard Mitigation Plan will be made available on-line and through the City’s Public Works department upon request. If you have any questions, please contact us through the projects e-mail address at hazmit@okc.gov .
July 12, 2004: The Oklahoma City Hazard Mitigation Committee held their second public meeting this evening. The meeting was designed to present the Draft Oklahoma City Hazard Mitigation Plan. Oklahoma City’s Channel 20 personnel were present to record the presentation and are currently working with the committee to make it available on the local cable channel.
July 6, 2004: Legal notices regarding the Public Meeting will be run in the Daily Oklahoman and the Journal Record until Monday July 12.
June 30, 2004: Planning Team has made available revised Hazard Mitigation Goals and a Worksheet regarding Mitigation Measures for draft prioritization (based on the Hazard Committee’s original analysis). This prioritization exercises represent a key component in the Plan’s process for identifying high priority mitigation measures that will be further detailed in the Action Plan.
June 30, 2004: Hazard Mitigation Goals and Mitigation Measures exercises were due to the Planning Team. This completed the initial stage of developing goals and mitigation measures for the Plan.
June 23, 2004: Members of the Planning Team and Hazard Mitigation Committee met with local news personnel to conduct an interview regarding the Plan’s process. The interview spot will run on Channel 20 repeatedly until the July 12, public meeting.
June 16, 2004: A meeting of the Hazard Mitigation Committee was held to initiate work on developing and refining goals for natural hazards that affect Oklahoma City. In addition, the Committee will begin identifying mitigation measures that would address these goals from the perspective of actions the City could take to mitigate damages from natural hazards. June 16, 2004: Presentation to the Oklahoma APWA received with great interest.
June 15, 2004: The June 7th Public Presentation is now available [downloadable forms]. Also, don’t forget to take the opportunity to provide your comment by completing the Public Hazardous Mitigation Questionnaire.
June 14, 2004: Members of the Committee will be presenting the City of Oklahoma City’s Hazard Mitigation Planning process at the upcoming American Public Works Association of Oklahoma City (APWA) central branch meeting on June 16, 2004.
June 10, 2004: With the addition of two Oklahoma City residents to its ranks, the Hazard Mitigation Committee is still looking for residents of Oklahoma City to sit on the Local Hazards Committee. June 7, 2004: The Oklahoma City Hazard Mitigation Committee held their first public meeting this evening.
