Approximately 80% of our responses are Emergency Medical Services calls.

Under the leadership of EMS Coordinator Major James Blocker, the department is increasing its ability to provide EMS service.

Keeping in line with the goals of Fire Chief Keith Bryant of improving our emergency medical service eff orts, the department is implementing the use of Advance Life Support (ALS) engine companies.

We currently have 20 ALS engine companies in service with plans to add more in the near future. These companies have manual defibrillators and paramedics placed on them and are located in areas where a need has been determined by past emergency responses.
