Oklahoma City's mayors have included colorful and historic figures.
The City's first provisional mayor, W.L. Couch, was one of David Payne's 'Boomers' who tried to open the territory to white settlers before the land run. Couch was murdered in a dispute over his own land claim a few months after he left office.
Ed Overholser oversaw construction of Lake Overholser, the City's first reservoir.
James Norick was not only mayor, but father of a future mayor, Ron Norick.
Patience Latting was the first woman in America to be elected mayor of a city of more than 350,000 people.
