Ms. Simank reminded everyone about the upcoming Free Landfill Drop-Off Day on Saturday, May 1st, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  She said it is best to bring your utility bill to the landfill because that is your ticket to get in free.  Ms. Simank said each household is allowed to bring up to four cubic yards of trash.

Mr. Couch said four cubic yards measures 3’ x 3’ x 12’ and is roughly the size of two refrigerators placed end-to-end.  Marsha Slaughter, Water and Wastewater Utilities Department Director, said citizens should call 297-2833 to schedule pick up of any items with refrigerant in them like refrigerators and air conditioners.

Mr. Foshee commended the Ford Center staff for the success of the McDonald’s All American Game on March 31st.  Mr. Foshee said he hoped Oklahoma City citizens recognize the fact that Oklahoma City is one of the best places to live in America.  He said the quality of entertainment options being offered at the Ford Center is incredible.  He said Prince and Rod Stewart are also scheduled to appear this month.

Ms. Johnson said Eric Clapton and Roberta Flack are also appearing later this year.  She agreed with Mr. Foshee about the improved quality of entertainment available in Oklahoma City.

    X.

Mr. Rinehart thanked Paul Brum, Public Works Director, for all the work done on the Draper Lake Road.

Mr. Rinehart asked if The City would look into the practice of using I-3 zoning for outside storage of junk.  He said the I-3 zoning is not intended for storage of junk but many private citizens are using it that way and it is an eye sore for The City.

Mr. McAtee said the National Street Rod Association event was a huge success with more than 2,000 cars participating.  He thanked Police Chief Bill Citty for the efforts of Major Ed Hill, Captain Steve McCool, Lieutenant Roger Bratcher and Sergeant David Baxter.  He also thanked the Hefner Impact, Santa Fe Impact, Vice Division Officers, the Able Commission and the Oklahoma City Sheriff’s Office for an outstanding job of keeping the peace on South Meridian Avenue.

Mr. McAtee said a Town Meeting is scheduled for April 12th, at 7:00 p.m., at the Windsor Hills Elementary School where the Planning Department will present the vision for NW 23rd Street from I-44 to the Bethany line.  Mr. McAtee encouraged all residents of Windsor Hills, Meridian Hills, Windsor Oaks, Windsor Forest, Musgrave-Pennington and Hilldale neighborhoods to attend this Town Meeting.

Mr. McAtee read a letter from Ideal Homes, the developer for the Fountain Grass addition located at SW 29th Street and Morgan Road.  He thanked Ideal Homes for agreeing to build brick homes in the Fountain Grass addition instead of vinyl homes.

Mr. Bowman said he met with a Houston-based mobile animal welfare unit on a recent visit to Oklahoma City.  He said the unit was here for five days working in some of our older neighborhoods.  Mr. Bowman said he was impressed with the efficiency of the operation.  He said the mobile unit spays and neuters 4,200 animals at no cost in lower income neighborhoods and another 1,400 animals at a reduced cost.

   XI. Citizens to be Heard.

Ronny Kirk, 2328 North Missouri Avenue, spoke about the June Teenth Block Party and the Annual Easter Egg Hunt for the northeast part of The City.
