Mr. Liebmann reminded everyone about the Total Care program available through Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) that reduces out-of-pocket expenses for ambulance services.

Mr. Liebmann said his guest this week on his City Council television show is John Lewis, Special Agent in charge of the Oklahoma City office for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).  Mr. Liebmann said he recently went through the Citizens’ Academy and it was a wonderful experience.

Ms. Johnson attended the Board of Directors meeting at the National League of Cities Conference last week and met with Oklahoma’s representatives to discuss issues of concern. 

Ms. Johnson challenged the Council to help with building the new playground for the Oklahoma City Zoo. 

Ms. Johnson said she attended a banquet last Saturday evening in honor of Rev. Epron J. Monson, who is mother to Oklahoma State Senator Angela Monson.  Rev. Monson was honored for her lifetime achievement in ministry and community.  Ms. Johnson asked if a Proclamation might be prepared for Rev. Monson.

Ms. Johnson congratulated SMG for bringing the Yanni concert to town.  She said she attended the concert and thought it was delightful.

Ms. Johnson asked for details about the incident described by citizen Amy Edison where a City bus damaged property on North Lottie Avenue.

Ms. Johnson introduced her granddaughter, Crystal Hammond, who was observing the Council meeting.  Ms. Johnson said Crystal attends Jarman Junior High School in Midwest City where she is an accomplished track star with a 4.0 grade point average.

Ms. Simank said she too attended the National League of Cities meeting last week.  She said she served in her new capacity on the Advisory Council.  She said the Council agreed upon a national agenda to present to Congress focusing on transportation, housing, public safety, Homeland security and education issues.

Ms. Simank thanked the Crestwood neighborhood for the dinner meeting last week.

Mr. Rinehart said he and Mr. Foshee have both had reports from citizens who called the 9-1-1 emergency number and were placed on hold.  He asked if a status report might be prepared about the 9-1-1 staffing situation.

Mr. Rinehart said he met Councilwoman Johnson’s son, Warren, and thought he is a remarkable young man.

Mr. McAtee thanked the Meridian Hills Neighborhood Association for playing host to him and his wife last Thursday evening.

Mr. McAtee thanked the Greenvale Neighborhood Association for their meeting last week and all the good things they are doing in their neighborhood. 

Mr. McAtee said he attended the last hockey game of the season and was impressed with Coach Doug Sauter’s comments after the game.  Mr. McAtee said the coach encouraged Oklahoma City citizens to support the hockey team even after a disappointing season.  Coach Sauter said he is committed to having a winning season next year.

Mr. Bowman thanked the City Manager for the Lost and Stray Pets Report and he encouraged The City to continue to look for proactive marketing opportunities for the welfare of animals in Oklahoma City.

     A. Public Information Presentation on Lost and Stray Pets.

Karen Farney gave a presentation on Lost and Stray Pets.  She recognized Tom and Glenda Anderson, professional musicians; Kim Schlitler, 18-year volunteer for animal welfare; and Ben Buckland, Vice President and General Manager of the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz Arena Football team for their work on the new “ID Your Pet Before It’s Too Late” campaign.
