Mr. Foshee extended condolences to the Seitsinger family for the loss of their son, Kyle, recently killed in Afghanistan. He said Kyle Seitsinger made the ultimate sacrifice.
Mr. Foshee informed the Kingswood neighborhood there is an item before the Traffic Commission concerning a traffic light near the recently constructed apartment building. He said the Kingswood neighborhood residents should call The City or the Traffic Commission to get more information about the Traffic Commission meeting.
Mr. Foshee said a new Johnny Carino’s restaurant recently opened in Ward 5.
Ms. Simank said the horse shows held at State Fair Park bring in a great deal of money to the City. She said the economic impact from horse shows is equivalent to $108.7 million, which represents 113,000 room nights.
Ms. Simank asked if staff could look into what appears to be some type of discrimination in our City health insurance plan. She said the City health insurance covers the Viagra medication for men but doesn’t cover birth control pills for women.
Ms. Johnson told Vice-Mayor Liebmann she really enjoyed his State of the City address last week.
Ms. Johnson said every Monday during the month of February admission to the Oklahoma City Zoo is free. She encouraged everyone to go and see our zoo, which is one of the top ten zoos in the country.
Ms. Johnson said the Oklahoma Zoological Society is teaming up with the Junior League of Oklahoma City to build the "ultimate playground" called Jungle Gym. She said over 5,000 volunteers are being sought to construct this Jungle Gym from March 24 to April 4, 2004. Ms. Johnson challenged the City Council members and the State Legislators to help with this project.
Mr. Liebmann reminded everyone that the Allied Arts is holding its annual fundraiser this month. He said the goal is $1.5 million dollars and he was happy to report that on the first day of the fundraiser $500,000 in donations had already been received.
Mr. Liebmann encouraged citizens to participate in the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon on April 25, 2004.

Mr. Liebmann said Mimi’s Cafe is now open on Memorial Road and he encouraged everyone to give it a try. He said the food is really good.

Mr. Roy Williams, President of the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce, gave a presentation about economic development.

Mr. Couch said Moody’s and Standard & Poor’s reaffirmed the City’s "AA" and "Aa2" credit ratings, both with a stable outlook that is very positive for Oklahoma City.
