Mr. Cornett asked how the size of parking spaces for City-owned parking is determined. He said the parking spaces seem inadequate for his mid-sized vehicle.
Mr. Couch said The City uses general engineering criteria and guidelines.
Mr. Cornett said it might be worthwhile to consider parking space dimensions before building the 1,000 parking spaces at the Galleria Parking facility.
Mr. Bowman said the new Asian District Steering Committee had its first meeting. The Asian District is located along Classen Boulevard from NW 30th Street to NW 23rd Street. He said the Steering Committee is comprised of about 12 individuals including members of the Asian community, Oklahoma City University employees, and former Councilwoman Amy Brooks. The Committee will bring a formalized plan to City Council in the spring.
Mr. Bowman said there are four homes being constructed in the 2600 block of North Walker with the use of City home funds. He was pleased to learn that all four of the new homes are under contract and the applicants will meet with the lenders this week.
Mr. Bowman said he read the City Manager’s Spay/Neuter Ordinances Report and was encouraged about the possibility of decreasing the intake and euthanasia rates at the Animal Shelter. He said the successful programs at other cities are involved in private partnerships to help fund the program. Mr. Bowman said he has talked with the administrators of the Kirkpatrick Family Fund and they are interested in participating in this effort.

Mr. McAtee commended the Downtown Oklahoma City group, Braum’s and other sponsors for the outstanding improvements made to the ice skating rink since last year.
Mr. Rinehart wished everyone a happy New Year and invited all citizens to attend Opening Night.
Ms. Johnson wished everyone a happy New Year and encouraged citizens to participate in the “Run For Your Life” event on New Years Day sponsored by The Oklahoma Organ Sharing Network.
Ms. Johnson thanked the Parks and Recreation Department for their efforts in helping Douglass High School with the indoor batting facility.
Ms. Johnson congratulated all the new firefighters and she thanked Chief Alan Benson for his improvements to our Fire Department.
Ms. Simank said today’s meeting pointed out The City’s need for inspectors. She said The City needs inspectors for various things such as reporting properties overgrown with weeds, for reporting vehicles parked on lawns, for measuring dance floors and for inspecting landscape plans. She suggested further consideration be done when undertaking the upcoming budget.
Mr. Couch said discussions would be held on January 27th when the City Council begins budget considerations.
Ms. Simank hoped everyone has a safe New Year celebration. She wants everyone to enjoy the football games with OSU playing in the Cotton Bowl on Friday and OU playing in the Sugar Bowl on Sunday.
Mr. Foshee said there is a burned out house on SE 52nd Street between Shields Boulevard and Byers on the north side of the road. He asked if Code Enforcement could check on this property.
Mr. Foshee thanked Park Commissioner, Ray Thompson, for filling in for him at the Earlywine J.W. Mashburn Walking Trail dedication. Mr. Foshee had a pressing medical situation in his family and was unable to attend the dedication.
Mr. Liebmann said inspectors are nice but the need for infrastructure repairs is urgent also. He requested that infrastructure repairs be considered at the budget meetings.

Mr. Liebmann thanked the City employees for doing a good job during 2003.
Mr. Liebmann said he read that Oklahoma City Parks and Recreation Department employee, Sue Wood, received the President’s Citation Award from the Oklahoma Recreation and Parks Society for her contributions to recreation in the state of Oklahoma.
