Mr. Cornett said he heard from a citizen who was cited and fined $163 for netting minnows and shad out of Lake Overholser to use for bait. Mr. Cornett said there isn't a retail outlet at Lake Overholser to purchase bait and thought maybe there should be. He asked if The City would examine whether it would be better to consider changing the ordinance concerning catching bait or to provide a nearby retail outlet to purchase bait.Mr. Bowman said he attended the media night last night for the new Asian grocery store opening between Western and Military and NW 25th and 26th Streets. He said the owners have gone over and above requirements in constructing this tremendous facility.
X.Mr. Bowman said he felt the momentum created by this store was going to build. He felt this would eventually be a destination stop for Oklahoma City.
Mr. Bowman has been encouraged about the communications, which have strengthened over the last few weeks, between the Public Works Department and the residents in the Belle Isle area. These two groups have been discussing the drainage ditch in the Cloverleaf area of the Belle Isle neighborhood. A Public Works representative has agreed to continue to meet monthly with the Belle Isle neighbors to work through the issues.
Mr. McAtee thanked Major Scully and Sergeant King for attending a meeting with representatives from six neighborhood associations and a representative from a key apartment complex in his area. He said he was encouraged about the efforts to improve the quality of residents in the apartment complex.
Mr. McAtee thanked the Meridian Hills Neighborhood Association for inviting him and his wife to the picnic last Sunday. He said he and his wife attended a Corbin Park meeting and also attended the Retired Firefighters banquet. He said he received worthwhile input from citizens at all of these events. Mr. McAtee encouraged citizens to participate in neighborhood meetings and to join community groups so they too could be a voice in their neighborhood.
Mr. McAtee said tonight the Windsor Hills neighborhood is having an annual picnic at Will Rogers Park. He said the Windsor Oaks neighborhood meets at Windsor Hills School at 7:30 pm tonight as well.
Mr. Foshee said he attended the Retired Firefighters annual banquet at Southern Hills. He encouraged retiring firefighters to join this organization.
Mr. Foshee said the project on SW 92nd Street and Western is finally completed. He said he has learned that the light at that intersection used to have the left turn light signal on and, apparently, was turned off during the construction. Mr. Foshee asked that the left turn signal light be turned back on at that intersection.
Mr. Foshee attended the Village Green annual picnic and thanked them for their hospitality. He said there were good conversations about parking on streets and driveways.

Mr. Foshee said he received a complaint about street problems in the Brookwood Addition. He asked the citizen with the information about the problems to call Debi Martin, Executive Assistant to the City Council, to provide the details about the problem and the exact location.
Ms. Simank said she attended the Mesta Park picnic last week. She said she also attended the Retired Firefighters banquet and she was glad to see that Bill Finley was the caterer for the event. She said Bill Finley volunteered to work with baseball referees for years.
Ms. Simank said the cultural food at the new Asian market was wonderful and she said she loved the fresh fish and seafood they offer.
Ms. Simank reminded everyone the Riverfront Redevelopment Trust is meeting today at 1:00 pm.
Ms. Simank said she received a call from a citizen concerned about The City destroying the forest on General Pershing Boulevard. She said The City was not responsible for the removal of those trees. Ms. Simank said private property owners are removing those trees to develop the property.
Ms. Johnson said there was a plethora of social events over the weekend including the International Jazz Festival at Remington Park, the Urban League's 53rd Annual Award Banquet, the Lincoln Terrace Neighborhood Association Picnic, the Deep Deuce Jazz Club had some great music, the Inner City Dance Institute had a recital and the Ambassadors Youth organization gave a concert.
Ms. Johnson apologized to the firefighters for not attending the Retired Firefighters annual picnic.
Mr. Liebmann thanked Vice Mayor Johnson for doing a good job presiding over the Council today.
Mr. Liebmann congratulated Mr. Bowman on the new Asian market in his ward.
Mr. Liebmann reminded everyone that the Quail Creek Board is meeting tonight at 7:00 pm.
