X. Items from Council.

Mr. Cornett attended an event with Ms. Johnson Saturday evening. They met dignitaries from Haiku, China, a sister city. Mr. Cornett accepted a gift on behalf of Mayor Humphreys from the mayor of Haiku. Mr. Cornett encouraged Council members to meet members of sister cities when they are visiting Oklahoma City. Mr. Cornett said visitors to our City are always very pleased and impressed. Mayor Humphreys was invited by the visitors from Haiku to attend their city in November.

Mr. McAtee ran the 1.2 mile event in the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon with his grandchildren this weekend. Mr. McAtee said the marathon was very successful and thanked City staff for their cooperation in making this event so great.

Mr. McAtee attended an awards ceremony Friday evening where Mr. Couch was presented with a meritorious award. Mr. McAtee congratulated Mr. Couch and his staff.

Mr. Rinehart announced a new traffic light will be installed on Sooner Road and SE 48th Street. There have been numerous accidents at this location and many requests for the light. Mr. Rinehart thanked Paul Brum and the Public Works Department for implementing this project. The traffic light will benefit many residents in the area.

Mr. Foshee welcomed Youth Councilor Amanda Johnson, Classen School of Advanced Studies.

Mr. Foshee thanked everyone for their concern and said his mother is recovering nicely from a serious operation.

Mr. Foshee asked if there are any regulations on placement of portable toilets on home construction sites. Mr. Foshee has a house in his ward under construction where the builder placed the portable toilet near the driveway of the adjacent home. Mayor Humphreys said the problem is the toilets must be near the street to be accessed by the trucks that service them. Mr. Foshee thinks they should at least be placed in the center of the property so they are not near neighbors' property lines. Mr. Foshee is going to try to contact the builder to work something out.

Ms. Simank said it is spring and many grand old home tours are beginning in the City. Council has been invited this Saturday, May 4th, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to the Crestwood Home Tour. Ms. Simank will hostess one of the homes.
