Oklahoma City's eight wards are apportioned according to population.

The most densely populated wards, such as 2, 6 and 5 are geographically the smallest. The wards with the most rural areas are geographically larger.

Ward boundaries are adjusted with each new census to reflect changes in how the City's population is distributed.
