He and his wife Pam have two sons, Jake and Clint, two grandsons, and
four dogs. David has over 35 years of experience in public accounting. He is
a shareholder in the Certified Public Accounting firm of Cole & Reed, P.C.
David received a B.S. degree in accounting from Oklahoma City University and an M.B.A. from the University of Oklahoma. Councilman Greenwell is also a graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government Executive Education Program. He regularly contributes articles to various business publications and served as an expert resource person for the White House Conference on Small Business. David often serves as lecturer and presenter at the Oklahoma Tax Institute and other conferences and seminars. In 2013, Governor Fallin appointed Mr. Greenwell as a member of the Oklahoma Accountancy Board.
Mr. Greenwell is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) (Member of the IRS Practice & Procedure Committee), a member of the OSCPA (Member of the Tax and Public Relations Committees), and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). He holds the professional designations of Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF), Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV), in addition to CPA.
David is a trustee of the Oklahoma City Airport Trust and the Central Oklahoma Transportation & Parking Trust, and serves on the Social Services, the Trails, the Audit, and the Judiciary Committees of the Oklahoma City Council as well as being a member of the Oklahoma City Redevelopment Authority Board of Directors. He is also a member of the board of directors of Good Shepherd Ministries and the Oklahoma City Museum of Art; and is a member of Rotary Club #29, and Leadership Oklahoma City Alumni Association (Class V). David and Pam are active members of Asbury United Methodist Church (now a part of St. Luke’s UMC), where they both teach Sunday School classes. David has also served in various leadership positions with Bible Study Fellowship.
Mr. Greenwell is a past inductee into the Capitol Hill High School Athletic and Activities Hall of Fame, was included in the inaugural group of inductees into the Oklahoma City Community College Hall of Fame, a past recipient of the AICPA’s Public Service Award, and a past recipient of the Outstanding CPA of Oklahoma City Award from the OSCPA.
