David Greenwell is a lifelong resident of South Oklahoma City and was elected to the City Council in March 2011. 

He and his wife Pam have two sons, Jake and Clint, and four dogs.  David has over 30 years of experience in public accounting providing auditing, income tax and consulting services.  He is a shareholder with the Certified Public Accounting firm of Cole & Reed, P.C.  Prior to merging Greenwell & Co., P.C. with Cole & Reed, P.C in 2008, he was a principal with Ernst & Young, LLP, through 1998.  

David received a B.S. degree in accounting from Oklahoma City University and an M.B.A. from the University of Oklahoma.  He regularly contributes articles to various business publications and served as an expert resource person for the White House Conference on Small Business.  Mr. Greenwell often serves as lecturer and presenter at the Oklahoma Tax Institute and other conferences and seminars.  He currently serves as the liaison between the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA) and the Oklahoma Tax Commission.

Mr. Greenwell is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) (Member of the IRS Practice & Procedure Committee), a member of the OSCPA (Member of the Tax and Public Relations Committees), and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).  He holds the professional designation of Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF), in addition to CPA.

David currently serves on the Social Services, the Trails, and the Judiciary Committees of the Oklahoma City Council as well as the Oklahoma City Redevelopment Authority.  He is also a member of the board of directors of the Oklahoma City Museum of Art and a member of Rotary Club #29, and Leadership Oklahoma City Alumni Association (Class V).  David and Pam are active members of Asbury United Methodist Church, and David serves in a leadership position with Bible Study Fellowship.    

Mr. Greenwell is a past inductee into the Capitol Hill High School Athletic and Activities Hall of Fame, was included in the inaugural group of inductees into the Oklahoma City Community College Hall of Fame, a past recipient of the AICPA’s Public Service Award, and the 2011 Outstanding CPA of Oklahoma City Award from the OSCPA.
