Victim #1:  Johnston, Tara Shay  (W/F, DOB: 3/5/1982) of Oklahoma City 

Victim #2:  Johnston, Allison  (W/F, DOB: 10/6/2010) of Oklahoma City 

Deceased Suspect:  Johnston, Daniel J.  (W/M, DOB: 6/15/1982) of Oklahoma City   

Regarding yesterday’s double homicide in northeast Oklahoma City, The victims have been identified as Tara Johnston and Allison Johnston.  Tara was the mother of Allison.  The Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of death for both victims.

The suspect, Daniel Johnston, was found dead in a hotel room last night in Las Vegas, NV.  His death appears to be a suicide.  Mr. Johnston was the husband of Tara Johnston and the father of Allison Johnston.  Investigators believe Mr. Johnston killed his wife and daughter before flying to Las Vegas this past Sunday.  For more information see the original news release below.

Incident #12-016232

At 7:52 a.m. this morning (2/28/2012), Oklahoma City Police were notified by the Edmond Police Department that they had received a tip regarding two people who were possibly dead inside of the residence at 12732 Teakwood Rd.

Investigators responded to the scene and after obtaining a warrant to enter the residence, found two persons deceased inside.  Their names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.  The investigation is still in the very early stages and the official cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
