City Fishing Permit

A City fishing permit and Oklahoma State fishing license are required for persons ages 16 to 62 fishing on City lakes and "Close to Home" fishing waters.

A City fishing permit is not required for children under 16, seniors over 62 and persons legally blind or persons with 60 percent or more disability

Cost: Daily permit - $2 (expires 24 hours after issuance)
Annual permit - $12.50 (expires one year after issuance)

Restrictions

Maximum of three rods and reels per person, with no more than three hooks per line. Restriction does not apply to artificial lures with more than three hooks - ALL WATERS

Bow fishing allowed during daylight only. No crossbows. Arrows may have no more than three points and no more than two barbs on each point. - CITY LAKES ONLY

Fisherman float allowed during daylight only, within 100 feet of shore; life jacket and watertight waders required. - CITY LAKES ONLY

Prohibitions - All Waters

No seines, cast nets or other nets
No trot, jug or limb lines
No spears, gigs or yo-yos
No noodling (hands-only fishing) except in the North Canadian River downstream from the NW 10th Street bridge to the MacArthur Street bridge
No snagging ("pulling" or "jerking" a hook or hooks through water to impale a fish)

City Lakes

Largemouth bass: 6 (14" minimum)
Smallmouth bass: 1 (18" minimum)
Channel & Blue Catfish: 15 combined
Crappie: 37
Walleye: 5 (18" minimum)
Flathead Catfish: 10 (20" minimum)
Rainbow Trout: 6

"Close to Home" Fishing Waters

Largemouth bass: catch and release
Channel & Blue Catfish: 6 combined
Crappie: 37
Flathead Catfish: 10 (20" minimum)
Rainbow Trout: 6

Fish that are smaller than the listed minimum sizes must be returned to water immediately. Length is measured from tip of snout to end of tail, with fish laid flat on a ruler, mouth closed and tail pressed together.

Trout Fishing Regulations

Trout season is from January 1 to February 28, 2002, at Dolese Lake, NW 50 and Meridian
City fishing permit and Oklahoma state license is required
Fishing by rod and reel only, one rod and reel per person
The daily limit is six trout per person
Trout caught and placed on stringer or held in possession cannot be released
No boats allowed during trout season
Adults do not need to be accompanied by a child to fish for trout, except during the Kid's Trout Derby day.
