Construction Permits
Public Works Department

Currently we are developing a new software application that will replace the current Permit Inquiry search feature of OKC.gov. This new software application will expand the current search technologies and also provide additional information related to specific permits. After the new feature is deployed, we will continue to work to expand results beyond a simple permit inquiry. Please be patient as we continue to improve our systems for you.

New: All Development Center Fees and Trust Account Deposits can now be made by phone with your Credit/Debit Card. Call 297-2459 for details.

This web site now includes updated permits, including updated historical permits (some back to 1983), as well as new permits issued on our new computer system that went live on March 5, 2007.  We apologize for the delay in providing this information and we appreciate your patience.

When searching this new system, both Permit Applications currently in review and Issued Permits may show up.  Only permits that have been Issued are valid permits that can be inspected or have associated permits purchased under them.

We are also currently working with our vendor so that later this year we will have a new and improved web site that will offer more features including on-line inspection requests.

The Construction Permit Search allows contractors and citizens to check all Development Center permits issued.

Is this information available to anyone?

Yes. This information is public record, available to all citizens, and provided online by the City for the convenience of anyone interested in Development Center permits.

How long after I request a permit or inspection will I see it online?

Our turnaround times remain the same. Some requests and services require up to 48 hours to process. New and updated inspection information will appear on this system as soon as the inspection information is uploaded from the inspector’s laptop to our new system. These times will vary depending on the network availability in the area where the inspector is. The inspection information will always be available by 5:00pm the day the inspection was complete.

I want to check on a construction site. How do I get a permit number?

Permits are posted at work sites. If you do not know the permit number, search by address first.

I am a contractor. Is my balance available online?

Not yet we plan to include it in our phase 2 upgrade. Right now, call for this information.

Do I need a log-in name or number?

No anyone can search this system.
